Gifu Prefecture (Gifu-ken) is located in the Chubu region on Honshu island,
Japan. The capital is the city of Gifu.The northern Hida Region is dominated
by tall mountains, including the Japanese Alps. The southern Mino Region
has vast plains with of arable soil. Most of the prefecture's population
resides in the southern part of the prefecture, near the designated city
of Nagoya.

Gifu Flower is Chinese milk vetch (Astragalus sinicus)
SGI practice Soka Gakkai's particular form of Nichiren Buddhism. Butsudan
Buddhist altar Nichiren taught that by chanting "Nam Myoho Renge Kyo"
to the Gohonzon. SGI practitioners call this process a "human revolution."
