Toyama Prefecture (Toyama-ken) is located in the Chubu region on Honshu
island, Japan. The capital is the city of Toyama. The coat-of-arms depicts
the symbolic Tateyama Range with the Japanese character TO, the first character
of gToyamah imposed on the foreground. It represents Toyamafs upward reach
and progression. The Gassho-stlye houses of Gokayama were named as Japanfs
fourth World Heritage Site.
